Christian Headcovering v. Handmaids Tale

Probably one of the oddest topics I have covered in a long time.  But I have done so in response to questions and worries from other ladies.  I will tell you upfront I have not seen this series and I have no intention of doing so.   A synopsis was more than enough to see it is an open attack on many things I hold dear.  Anyway, my thoughts are here in the video for those who were worried about this sort of thing.

  1. Thank you so much for posting this. I have never watched this show but have seen pictures of the women in their weird costumes. The first thing that popped into my mind was they were mocking motherhood and Biblical womanhood. I have no intention whatsoever of watching it.
I appreciate you tackling this subject and I hope ladies who are considering covering or already covering will be encouraged to stay in the Word and not be afraid of what others think. I'm saying this to myself too. Have a blessed weekend!

  2. I haven't seen the program, nor do I plan to, but I have read the book. I don't know what the author's intent was, but my take away was that evil, ruthless people will twist and distort anything they can to serve their own purposes. The whole book spoke to me as a cautionary tale of false teachers and false doctrine and the harm they can do. Maybe that's because I know what was happening was contrary to scripture and could see that it was evil or maybe that was the author's intent. I know that what comes out on the screen seldom agrees with the original source material and, without even seeing the program, today's political environment practically guarantees that somebody's agenda is going to grab that material and make hay with it while their sun shines.
